About the school

Kansala Primary School sits in Brikama, the largest town in West Coast Region. We teach the primary years, Grades 1 through 6, and prepare pupils for the Upper Basic school that follows.

Classes here are small enough that a teacher knows every pupil by name, and knows when one of them has stopped turning up. Registers are taken every morning and a parent hears from us that day, not at the end of term.

Each subject stays with the same teacher for the whole year. A pupil who falls behind in Mathematics in the first term falls behind in front of someone who noticed, and who is still there in the third.

Attendance firstRegisters are taken every morning and parents hear the same day. A child who is not in the room cannot be taught.
Marks parents can readEvery report shows each subject, the class average and where the pupil stands, in writing, three times a year.

Admissions

Joining Kansala Primary School is simple.

We admit into Grades 1 through 6 at the start of each academic year. Grade 1 fills first, so come early if your child is starting school for the first time.

    Come to the office

    Bring your child with you. Mornings before ten are the quietest.

    Bring the papers

    Birth certificate and the report from the last school attended. Photographs can follow later.

    Placement

    We read the report, talk with the child, and place them in the class that fits.

    Confirm the place

    Settle the entry charge and take the uniform list. The place is held from that day.

School fees

Clear fees, nothing hidden.

Tuition is paid once a term, three times a year. The table below is what a family actually pays, including what is charged once when a pupil joins.

The entry charge covers the school uniform and badge and is paid once, on joining. Arts Practical is charged at D150 in the year a pupil takes it. Every figure is confirmed at the office before you pay anything.

Returning pupils register in the last week of August. New pupils should come to the office before the month ends, while there is still time to sort uniforms.
